Antique Ruby and Diamond Buckle Ring

A lovely 18k gold antique buckle ring with two rubies and one diamond. Please read the condition notes below and refer to the photos as they are also part of the description.

Buckle rings (or garter rings as they are also called) came into fashion in the Victorian era. Queen Victoria was a member of the Royal Order of the Garter. The members wear a blue garter buckled on their knee, but Queen Victoria chose to wear hers on her arm instead, launching a garter jewelry fashion trend.

SIZE / MEASUREMENTS:
The ring is a size 7
The band is about 5mm wide at the top and 4mm wide at the back.

CONDITION:
The ring is slightly out of round and looks to have been resized or reshanked at some point in the past. The decoration along the outer perimeter is worn as you move toward the back of the shank. The stones have some abrasions and minor chips when viewed with a loupe.
